In 1952, Hamarikyu (Hama Detached Palace Garden) was selected as the Place of Scenic Beauty in Japan as well as a site with historical significance. And in 1956, it has been nationally designated as a "Special" Place of Scenic Beauty and a "Special" Historic Site.
This garden is a typical example of the famous gardens of the Edo Period. There are symbolic spots such as unique seawater pond, which only remain in Tokyo, the 300-year-old Pine Tree and the 118m long bridge made of Japanese cypress. All the view you see there will take you in ancient time in Japan.
